ARTISTS IN RESIDENCY

 

The deadline for Africa Centre 2014 Artists in Residency Programme [AIR] is four weeks away. AIR is designed as a partnership, where the Africa Centre solicits applications and shortlists artists for eight international residencies. The residencies make the final selection from the shortlist based on their specific criteria and areas of interest. There are eight awards available for 2014/2015.

Artists across la creative disciplines are welcome to apply, this includes but is not limited to: filmmakers, writers. Visual artists, performing artists, photographers, digital artists and choreographers.

The costs of the residency and roundtrip airfare are included in each residency award. To apply or find out more about the residency programmes, please go to http://africacentre.net/artists-in-residency/

ACTORS WANTED FOR PROJECT AT FESTIVAL

Twist Theatre Development Projects is looking to cast three actors for staged readings at its annual writer’s development master-class, The Novel-Script Project which forms part of the National Arts Festival programme.
Actors should be available for travel to Grahamstown between 30 June and 8 July, 2014.
The writers involved in the project are working form the acclaimed novel “Sleepwalking Land” by the Mozambican writer Mia Couto.

We are looking to cast experienced actors for the following characters ONLY (please do not send in an application if you do not fit these descriptions)

·  INDIAN MALE – playing range of between 30 and 40

·  INDIAN FEMALE – playing range of around 40

·  COLOURED / MIXED RACE MALE – playing age of between 20 and 30

Please send through a short one page CV with a reference of a previous director on a project you have worked on, as well as a head-shot to:info@twistprojects.co.za  by 4 pm on Monday 2 June
