My Chef does their part for #MandelaDay

My Chef is an online store that offers a range of healthy and delicious meals delivered to your door every Tuesday and Friday.

In light of Mandela Day (July 18th) My Chef will be giving back to the less fortunate by devoting 67 minutes of their time to serving a Hearty Chicken and veggie soup at a My Chef soup kitchen which will be set up at Operation Bobbi Bear on Friday, July 17th.

Operation Bobbi Bear is a human rights organisation committed and dedicated to working with and assisting sexually abused children in Amanzimtoti.

A “Bobbi Bear” toy is a non-threatening means for child victims of sexual abuse to communicate the nature of the abuse, crossing all language barriers and preventing secondary abuse at the point of rescue. It provides the criminal justice system and caregiver with a better understanding of actual events and enables the initiation of appropriate HIV and AIDS interventions.

Operation Bobbi Bear’s success rate with prosecution of the perpetrators and providing safe homes for the abused children is testament to the organisation’s training programmes both with individuals, the community and collaboration with the criminal justice system in South Africa

My Chef is also encouraging you to order a packet of soup for the kids off their Friday menu, which will be added to the growing pot of soup to be served at the soup kitchen. Order yours through www.mychef.co.za before 10am tomorrow, July 15thfor only R67. Every packet feeds 7 hungry tummies.

Find out more about how you too can help the organisation by visiting http://www.bobbibear.org.za/
