Explore Umbogavango Nature Reserve in the heart of the Umbogintwini Industrial Complex (which adjoins the Galleria Mall in Amanzimtoti) on KZN’s South Coast next week and celebrate WESSA’s 90th anniversary at the same time!
The Wildlife and Environmental Society of South Africa (WESSA) is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and the Upper South Coast branch of WESSA is inviting all lovers of the environment to attend a talk and guided walk through the Reserve on Saturday, 21 May at 10am.
The 36hectare reserve is a popular spot for birdwatchers and nature trail enthusiasts and the perfect spot to host this celebratory event. The venue is the Educational Resource Centre at the Umbogavango Nature Reserve.
The short walk through the Reserve will be followed by a presentation by Pieter Burger, KZN Chairman of WESSA.
He will discuss the newly developed WESSA membership web portal and how it can be used to support the work and activities of the Society’s members, branches, friends’ groups and conservancies. There are facilities at the Reserve to braai at lunchtime. All those attending are requested to bring their own food and drinks.
As the event is situated in a national keypoint area, all those interested in attending are requested to RSVP to Veerle (031 573 1054 – firstname.lastname@example.org) by Thursday May 19 at the latest.
Get involved in making a difference, find out more about what WESSA does and help conserve the environment!
